Thurston Law Offices was founded by Robert C. ("TJ") Thurston, an attorney
with 25 years of legal experience.
Robert is admitted to the state bars in New Jersey, Pennsylvania (pending petition), and Illinois,
as well as numerous federal courts.
He began his practice in
Philadelphia and South Jersey, but moved to Chicago in 1990. He worked for several large firms as
well as a major insurance company before beginning his own practice. Robert
has appeared before both federal and state courts in jurisdictions all over the U.S.
He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the Ohio
State College of Law (now Moritz College
of Law) and earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the
University of Michigan.
Robert has been published
and featured in the Illinois Bar Journal and American Bar
Association SOLO Newsletter. He has also lectured extensively on various legal topics and taught law courses at Harper College
(IL) and McHenry County College (IL).
As a lawyer, Robert believes it is his duty to be involved in the community and volunteer for causes. In 2007,
he won the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award and supports the following organizations as either a member,
